Welcome to the eighth grade Lopez Team at Kulshan Middle School. We are named after an island west of Bellingham that is famous for its strong community and connection to nature.

Syllabus
Syllabus for language arts, social studies, math, and science will be distributed the first week of school.
Supplies
Please bring the following supplies to class the first day.
- 10 #2 pencils
- A three-ring binder
- Four composition books with college rule
- Three packs of stickie notes
- Two boxes of Kleenex
- Black or blue ball-point pens
- Black felt tip pen (fine point)
- Highlighter
- Pencil pouch
- Glue stick
- Ruler
- Set of colored pencils
- Ten dividers
- Loose leaf paper
- Scissors
- Correcting pen (red)
- Calculator (scientific for pre algebra)
- Quarter-inch grid paper
- Independent Reading Book
Island Info
Mr. Henricks and Mrs. Taylor have classes in the 100 wing. Ms. Bennett's class is in the 400 wing.
Expectations
The Lopez Team believes that all members of the team should work daily to be prepared, be respectful, and be responsible.

In order to gain the most from their experience at Kulshan, Lopez team students will have the RIGHT to:

- Express opinions appropriately
To ensure that student RIGHTS are upheld, each member of the team has the RESONSIBILITY to do the following:
- Arrive on time
- Respect others’ rights
- Be prepared
- Follow directions
- Take care of classroom materials and help keep the rooms clean
Classroom teachers will note if students need to be “reminded” about a RESPONSIBILITY. More than one “reminder” in any class period will result in one or more of the following CONSEQUENCES:
- Teacher/Student Discussion
- Team/Student Discussion
- Time out
- Time owed
- Kulshan detention
- Parent contact
- Office Referral
