Acrostic Metaphor Poem
Example
Dangerous animals prowling in the dark,
Alarming faces crawling in the blackness,
Red evil eyes staring after sunset,
Kreepy creatures crawling in the blackness,
Noises coming from the shadows that scare the color from your face,
Echoes coming back to give you chills at night,
Spooky pictures looking at you after dusk,
Screaming and yelling with lots of fright.

Extended Metaphor Poem
Example
Where you will lose your breath.
Ready
to be amassed.
Entertaining
on your eyes.
Start
to watch the big “BOOM!”
The
crowd goes wild for their favorite wrestler!
Legends
will be made.
Ever,
so hard to watch.
Memorable for those who lost their lives in
the WWE.
Always
to amaze you.
Never
easy to watch.
Icons
and Legend’s will never be forgotten.
Always
will make you jump out of your seat.

Two Voice Poem and Acrostic
Metaphor Poem
|
Silencing the crowd with one shot. Overlapping teammates to open up the field. Creating a sharp angle for a crisp pass. Controlling the ball and setting up the cross. End of the game penalty kicks and it’s your turn. Racing towards the ball at full speed and beating
your guy. -voice of A. B. |
Shooting the ball
and completely missing. Off sides and
horrible fouls. Colliding into your teammates falling into thick
mud. Carelessly
scoring for the other team. End result is
losing by a huge amount. Running for the ball and the other player beats you
there. -voice of C. C. |
Family Metaphor Poem
Example 1
My
dad is the engine,
Hard
working and never gives up.
My
mom is the steering wheel,
Keeping
everyone in the right direction.
My
younger brother is the radio,
Amusing
with a running sound track.
My
cats are the comfortable heated seats of the automobile,
Cozy
and forever warm.
I
am the air-conditioning,
Adjusting
to what is needed and keeping everybody cool.

Family Metaphor Poem
Example 2
My
dad is the engine,
Keeping
everyone good and going
My
mom is the steering wheel,
Leading
my family and I down the right road
My
sister is a mirror,
Always
up to helping me out
My
little brother is the radio,
Sometimes
not coming through clearly, but other times planting smiles on faces
And
I am the wheels,
Rolling
through life on bumpy and smooth roads, always going

Family Metaphor Poem
Example 3
My
family is a yacht,
cruising
through the waves.
My
dad is the propeller,
pushing
us quickly toward the finish.
My
mom is the steering wheel,
silently
controlling where we go.
My
cousin is the fly bridge,
hovering
high above the rest.
My
dog is the dinghy,
always
trailing closely behind us.
My
aunt is the burgee,
proudly
representing where we’re from.
And
I am the bow,
