Unit Plans
Each unit we do has a Unit plan. This helps students as well as parents to know what we are going to cover during that "week" of time. (It may take longer!!) The Lab protocols are in the front of their journals to help guide the students through labs , readings and worksheets. Students will also keep track of the parts of the unit that they completed. All of the focus questions as well as questions for the labs and readings are kept in the students Lab Notebook. These Lab books are very important for the student to keep neat and organized. Students are encouraged to keep these at school unless they are studying for a test or finishing homework. Worksheets are also given to students who need the scaffolding to help them in the process of Scientific Inquiry. Please check the pink Learning Logs every week for thier homework summaries. These need to be kept in their binders and go home with them every night. Please see the back for instructions.
Current Events:
Current Events are due every other Tuesday starting on September 18th. There is a purple instruction sheet that the students should have in their binder to follow the directions for the Current Event. See directions and rubric on the unit plan page.
Projects
Projects are introduced a few weeks early of their due date and a timeline is usually attached to the directions worksheet. I will check students progress along the way. We will start the project research in class a few days and then the rest will be homework.
